Senior Programs

The Office on Aging offers programs on topics of interest to Borough residents age 55 and over throughout the year. The programs are listed on the borough calendar on this web site. Monthly calendars are available in the lobbies of the Recreation Center and the Public Library. For information on all programs please call 732-356-0414.

UPCOMING PROGRAMS:



TAI CHI EXERCISE CLASS:
Tai Chi is a low impact form of exercise that has a positive benefit on blood pressure, balance and memory. The class runs for eight weeks and costs $30.00.
Class is held at the Recreation Center on Friday mornings at 9:30. New Tai-Chi classes will begin in January 2007. Call the office for more information.


Line Dancing is every Monday in the Recreation Center. The cost is $3.00 per class. Classes are at 2:45PM.



SIT AND BE FIT:
This program, which is done mostly in a seated position, is designed for flexibility and range of motion. It is a gentle series of stretch and toning movements. The session is 22 minutes in length and involves a warm-up period, a flexing series and stretching motions. The classes are held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 2PM and Wednesday and Friday at 10:30AM. These classes are FREE and very popular. Pre-registration is not required



INTERNET SURFING CLASSES:
The Office on Aging in cooperation with the Middlesex Public Library will hold Internet classes on Mondays annd Tuesdays from 9AM-10AM. A new session is held every 3 weeks. Call the Office on Aging at 732-356-0414 to register. DO NOT CALL THE LIBRARY.


LIVE LONG LIVE WELL WALKING PROGRAM...We are always looking for new members! Call the office for more information.


SPANISH CONVERSATION CLASSES...We will begin another series of classes in ASAP. All are welcome regardless of age. Please call the office if you have any interest. The cost is $35.
