LIL' SLUGGERS BASEBALL- Boys and Girls ages 5 and 6 by 4/30 of current year and have completed kindergarten. Season runs (approx) from last week in April/first week of May thru June with games being played on Saturdays. $20.00 registration fee — shirt and hat are provided. Children are encouraged to participate in the Memorial Day Parade. REGISTRATION TO BE HELD DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.

SMALL GIRLS SOFTBALL

Children are encouraged to march in the Memorial Day Parade. REGISTRATION TO BE HELD DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.


JUNIOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL
Girls ages 9, 10, 11 & 12 by 4/30 of current year. Season runs (approx) from last week in April/first week in May thru June with games being played on a weekday evening(s). $25.00 registration fee — shirt, visor and pants are provided. Children are encouraged to march in the Memorial Day Parade. REGISTRATION TO BE HELD DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.


*Please be aware that if we have ample registration - we may divide the league into Jr. League "A" (ages 9 & 10), and Jr. League "B" (ages 11 & 12).

FARM LEAGUE BASEBALL
Boys ages 9, 10, 11 & 12 by 4/30 of current year. Season runs (approx) from last week in April/first week in May thru June with games being played on weekday evenings. $25.00 registration fee — shirt, hat and pants are provided. Children are encouraged to march in the Memorial Day Parade. REGISTRAION TO BE HELD DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.


MAJOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL
Age/Grade requirements depend on which league we join. Season runs (approx) from last week in April/first week in May thru June with games being played on weeknights. $40.00 registration fee — full uniform provided.
Evaluations required for new players to the league. REGISTRATION TO BE HELD DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.

BABE RUTH BASEBALL
Boys ages 13, 14, & 15 by 4/30 of current year. Season runs (approx) from last week in April/first week in May thru June. Games are played on various weeknights. $60.00 registration fee — full uniform provided. Evaluations required for new players to the league. REGISTRATION TO BE HELD DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.


13YR. OLD TOURNAMENT TEAM
Babe Ruth is a prerequisite to this program. This is a traveling league. Season starts after BR season. REGISTRATION REQUIRED! $60.00 registration fee.

14YR. OLD TOURNAMENT TEAM

15YR. OLD TOURNAMENT TEAM

SUMMER PLAYGROUND -
 Boys & girls in grades K–5. Children must have COMPLETED kindergarten by start of program. Program is held at various sites and runs for 6 weeks, Monday thru Friday from 9AM to Noon, beginning the last week in June or first week in July. $100.00 registration fee per child. Arts & crafts, sports activities, local trips ie; roller skating, bowling, amusement park, etc. REGISTRATION TO BE HELD DURING THE MONTHS OF MAY & JUNE.

MARTIAL ARTS - HAPKIDO
Boys and girls ages 7 and older. Program runs in 8 week sessions (every Mon.), year-round. Curriculum will include instruction in foundation skills such as flexibility, stances/posture, coordination, tumbling/break falls, strikes/kicks, blocks/deflection, protocol and safety as well as self defense techniques such as breakaways, basic joint locks, defense against strikes and grabs, basic ground survival skills, and principles of Hapkido. $35.00 registration fee per session. an Additional fee of $20.00 for first time paraticipants to purchase a uniform (GI). Students will be tested periodically to advance belt levels (color). There will be a $5.00 belt fee when graduating belt levels. Class size is limited with registrations being accepted on a first come, first served basis. Call recreation department for details and start of next new session.

SOCCER
 Boys and girls in kindergarten through eigth grade. Season runs from September through November with games being played on Saturday mornings. $20.00 registration fee - shirt is provided. 


BASKETBALL
Boys and girls in grades 3 through 8. Season runs from December or January through March. $25.00 registration fee - shirt is provided. Games will be played on Saturday mornings with the exception of 7th & 8th grade boys. Their games will be held on Thursday evenings. Practices will be at the discretion of the coach.

TRAVEL BASKETBALL
Boys and girls in grades 5 through 8. Season starts in October. $40.00 registration fee. REGISTRANT IS REQUIRED TO TRY OUT for team. He/she MAY NOT MAKE THE TEAM. Registration to be held during the month of October. Child must be registered by the deadline in order to attend try outs.

OPEN MAT WRESTLING
Kindergarten through 12th grade. Instructional program to teach and improve wrestling skills. Program will be offered during the spring and/or fall (provided we have volunteers/an approved facility, and a minimum of registered participants). $10.00 registration fee.

WRESTLING
Kindergarten through sixth grade. Season runs from November through February. Practices are held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday's. Meets may be held on weekday evenings and/or weekends. Transportation for away meets will not be provided. $20.00 registration fee - singlet provided. Some tournaments may require an additional registration fee. REGISTRATION TO BE HELD DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER.


PONYSHARE
This unique program provides an exciting introduction to the wonderful worl of equines in a fun-filled, non-threatening atmosphere. PonyShare uses ponies and cobs, smaller and easier to handle than their larger equine counterparts. Small groups of 4-6 children are formed according to age and prior experience - if any. After reviewing safety rules, materials previously covered and learning a new subject matter, children are assigned their size-related pony or cob and each small group works under the tutelage of a qualified instructor. Some horsemanship matters covered include: Safety on and around horses, Basic anatomy, Equine Senses & Body Language, Management and Careers in the industry. Participants also get to shortly ride and drive their charges 3 to 4 times during each session. This program enhances team work and self-esteem while helping develop a genuine appreciation and respect for the animals. Course materials are provided. Children MUST bring strong hiking shoes, jeans/sweatpants, a bicycle helmet, fluids, and on Friday, a carrot! Sessions will take place at MountainView Park. For more information you can visit the PonyShare website at www.ponyshare.com. Cost of program for 2008 is $195.00 for borough residents, and $215.00 for out-of-town. Proof of residency is required. A payment plan will be offered as follows: $75 (per child) due at time of registration, with the remaining balance due two weeks before the start of the program. A minimum of (8) participants per session, maximum of (30). A non-refundable fee of $25 for all withdrawals unless course is cancelled by the rec. dept. No reminders will be sent regarding your balance. If remaining balance is not paid by deadline, your child will not be registered and your deposit will be refunded less a $25 withdrawal fee.

TRACK & FIELD PRACTICES
These practices will introduce children to the sport of track and field. In a clinic type setting children will learn good running form, proper sprinting techniques, how to throw a shot put, long jump techniques and basic hurdling skills, baton exchange for relays and general conditioning. The practices will be held at the track in Mountain View  Park and will begin at 6:30 PM. The team may eventually compete against other local track programs. More information will be distributed to participants as it is received. Participants must be ages 8 through 17 by Dec. 31, 2007. Rainouts will not be made up. Registration fee for team practices is $25. Registration must be done through the recreation deparatment prior to attending program.CHILDREN NOT REGISTERED THROUGH THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT CANNOT PARTICIPATE AND WILL BE TURNED AWAY.

TRACK & FIELD MEETS
Events include 50m dash, 100m dash, 400m dash, 800m run, long jump, shot put, and hurdles will be included if available. These events will be held at 6:30 PM at Mountain View Park track. All events will be broken down into age categories set by the NJ USATF. Participants can sign up for a maximum of 4 events per week. Participants must be ages 8 through 17 by Dec. 31, 2007. Rainouts will not be made up. Registration fee is $25.00. Registration must be done through the recreation department prior to attending program.CHILDREN NOT REGISTERED THROUGH THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT CANNOT PARTICIPATE AND WILL BE TURNED AWAY. 
LOCAL MEET DATES:

TENNIS
LITTLE TENNIS classes are from 6-7PM and are available to children ages 3 through grade K. This class will teach the basic strokes of tennis and build motor skills through tennis drills and games.
ELEMENTARY TENNIS is from 6-7PM and is for students in grades 1-4. The focus of this class will be to teach/improve tennis strokes and introduce advance strokes. Students will learn the rules of the game.
JUNIOR TENNIS is from 8-9PM and is for students in grades 5-9.  This class is for students who have never played tennis or who now need to improve on the basics of his or her tennis skills.
JUNIOR ADVANCED TENNIS is from 8-9PM.  This class is for students in grades 5-9 who know the basics of tennis but need to improve on playing and advance strokes.
